Ah yes, Robert (or Rabbie) Burns, the Bard of Ayrshire, Scotland’s national poet. Burns once penned:
O thou, my muse! guid auld Scotch drink!
Whether thro' wimplin worms thou jink,
Or, richly brown, ream owre the brink,
In glorious faem,
Inspire me, till I lisp an' wink,
To sing thy name!
It is only right then, that Arran have made a whisky in his honour! This is a miniature bottling of said offering. This is the official malt whisky of the World Robert Burns Foundation.
The whisky itself is creamy, approachable and sweet, with supple notes of stone fruit, apples, and toasty malt. This dram is bottled at a warming 43% ABV, to the benefit of its mouthfeel and intensity.
A dram the Bard himself would be fond of!
