A lovely recent addition to Arran’s line of single malts. Arran were only founded in 1995, so it is just in the last few years that they have been able to release 18 year old single malts. A milestone for the distillery, and a tasty one at that!
Drinkers should expect lovely notes of peaches, brown sugar, vanilla, slight milk, spice and syrupy oak. This is a dram that possesses perfect balance between the identities of cask and spirit, with flavours of cereal and oak in harmony. This dram is at once complex and approachable, intense and drinkable, constantly impressive with its depth and subtlety.
This is a whisky that benefits considerably from being bottled at 46% ABV, allowing the flavours to resonate on the palate.
In many ways this is a whisky that reflects Arran distillery’s approach – a no nonsense dram, expertly crafted, simply presented, with no chill filtration or colouration, and at an excellent price.
Another superb release from a highly impressive distillery!
