Another well aged whisky bottled by Gordon and MacPhail for their Connoisseurs Choice range.

This time round they’ve picked out a dram from Highland distillery Aberfeldy. The spirit has been aged in a single refill sherry hogshead for 16 years, having been distilled back in 2003, and bottled on the 20th of January 2020.

The result is a lovely, well balanced dram with the perfect amount of sherry influence. Expect notes of sweet red berries, buttery oak, pepper, grassy malt, apple rind, orange zest, lemon flesh, toasted nuts, slight chocolate, figs and plums.

Bottled at robust cask strength of 59.2% ABV and without chill filtration or colouration, ensuring a full bodied and flavoursome dram.

Only 242 bottles were drawn from the single cask.
