A wonderful smoky whisky from the Wemyss independent bottlers. The Peat Chimney is a blended malt (meaning there is no grain whisky used) with an emphasis on Islay whiskies. Charles MacLean was tasked by Wemyss with creating this wonderful blend, which perhaps accounts for its excellent balance. Peat Chimney, whilst providing plentiful smoke, also highlights aspects of peated whisky that are often overlooked: a satisfying sweetness, tangy salinity, and deep savoury heartiness. The whisky is bottled at 46%, and without chill-filtration, meaning that the drinker gets to enjoy maximum flavour. A delicious whisky, with a first-rate pedigree.
