A bit of a dark horse of the blended whisky world, this is a blend of an extremely high quality. The whisky takes its name from the old Gaelic phrase “uisge beatha”, which translates as “water of life” and was corrupted over the years to give us the word “whisky”! The whisky itself is a blend with a very high quantity of malt, some of which is aged over 18 years. It has also been bottled at 43%, slightly higher than normal, particularly for blended whisky. A tasty and approachable dram, with delicious flavours of crystalised ginger, spice, lemonade and honey. The mouthfeel is chewy yet light, with a nice toasted malt note. A rewarding whisky.
Best of the world!
