A rum from Dutch independent bottlers Ultimatum, that is as mysterious as it is delicious.
We do know that this rum is from a distillery in Panama, and that is has been aged for 10 years, having been distilled in February 2008, and bottled in November 2018.
The spirit has been aged in a single Bourbon barrel, cask number 36.
The result is a surprisingly dry rum, with notes of citrus, some oak spice, zesty acidity, some coffee and chocolate, vanilla, heavy brown sugar and treacle.
Bottled at a phenomenal cask strength of 64.7% ABV, this is certainly not a rum for the faint hearted, but will reward the brave with an intensely flavoursome dram. Neither chill filtration or colouration were used in the production of this rum.
Only 254 bottles of this rum were produced.
