A cracking blended malt from William Maxwell and Company (owned by highly regarded independent bottlers and distillers, Ian Macleod). The festivally bottled dram is a blend of malt whiskies from 6 different whisky making Scottish Isles: Skye, Jura, Orkney, Arran, Mull and most famous of all, Islay.

This particular bottling takes this wonderful spirit and finishes it for a time in Pomerol wine casks, sourced from France. The blended malt is itself a superb spirit, with excellent balance between its six island malts, with Mull providing funk, Islay powerful smoke, Arran malty sweetness, Orkney maritime-medicinal notes and Jura spice.

The Pomerol finish however, takes things to the next level, giving the spirit an extra layer of spicy sweetness and red fruit. All in all, this is a magnificent whisky, extremely flavoursome and powerful.

The flavours of this whisky are boosted in no small part by the fact this dram is bottled at 48% ABV, and without either chill filtration or artificial colouring.
