A beautifully presented premium blended Scotch from the Antiquary range, bottled by Tomatin distillery. Also known as the “Gold Box” this bottling matches malt from the Highlands and Speyside, with a little peated spirit from the island of Island, and a touch of grain whisky from the Lowlands. Each of these components is aged in oak barrels for no less than 21 years, creating a truly special blended whisky. The nose of this whisky opens with soft peat, earth, a little ginger, some stone fruit and warm hay. The palate is rich with currants and red fruit, with a well-rounded, creamy mouthfeel, caramel, honey and some drying, dusty oak. The finish is long, slightly smoky and spicy, and moreish. The flavours benefit considerably from being bottled at 43% ABV, giving a warmth to the whisky. A great value, yet superbly complex, 21 year old blend.
