Another delicious single cask offering from independent bottlers Càrn Mòr.
This time round they’ve selected a Strathmill whisky distilled in 1994. Strathmill is another distillery sadly overlooked, with the only official bottling coming through Diageo’s Flora and Fauna range. The Speyside distillery produces an oily new make, with a a purifier pipe running from the lyne arm back into the spirit still, creating a partial triple distillation with plenty of copper contact. Flavours of grass and light tropical fruits are typical to the spirit.
This whisky was distilled in June 1994, and bottled in January 2019, with an age of 24. It has been aged in a single hogshead.
Bottled at a low cask strength of 47.2% ABV, and without chill filtration or colouration, this craft presentation makes for a succulent and approachable dram.
Just 217 bottles were produced.
