Yet another delicious Signatory Vintage bottling.
This time up it is Strathmill distillery. This is another Diageo whisky distillery that is mostly used for the company’s blends. Very few official single malts have been released, so it is always nice to come across an independent bottling like this one. Strathmill is tucked just inside the Speyside region, and is known having a light, slightly oily spirit with some crisp fruity notes.
This whisky has been aged in two sister Hogsheads, numbers 805448 and 805449, for ten years. This has given this bottling a nice maturity without overwhelming the flavours of the spirit.
This dram serves up succulent flavours of grassy cereals, peaches, oily nuts, toasted oak, vanilla and crisp caramel.
Bottled at 43% ABV and without colouring, this is a warming dram, with a classic Speyside profile.
Great work again from the folk at Signatory.
