Another Aquavit vying for the title of Germany’s number one brand.

Based on a Danish recipe, the spirit has been unchanged since 1924. Malteserkreuz is made with filtered alcohol and spices, including caraway and dill (which provide much of the spirit’s flavour).

Malteserkreuz offers flavours of caraway, fennel, anise, peppery spice, vanilla and slight citrus rind.

The bottling aims to capture the spirit of the “Roaring Twenties” when it was first launched, a taste of luxury after much austerity, that came with a silk paper wrapping and was featured in the most prestigious Berlin hotels.

Great paired with seafood, or with an ice cold beer.
