A glorious bottling from Gordon & MacPhail, forming part of their delightfully retro Distillery Labels series (which received a makeover in Spring 2018).

This time round the veteran bottlers have selected whisky from the perennial connoisseurs’ favourite, Longmorn. Longmorn produces a weighty spirit with a sweet and slightly fruity character.

This whisky has been matured in a mixture of refill Bourbon and first-fill Sherry casks.

The result is a crisp, fruity dram, with a good balance of Bourbon barrel and Sherry cask influenced flavours. The whisky opens with a slightly citrusy, herbaceous caramel note, soon followed by sherried dried fruits, cumin, cinnamon and nutmeg, liqourice, stem ginger, chocolate and vanilla.

Bottled at 43% ABV for a slight kick in intensity, this is a delicious, high quality whisky.
