Of all the domaines that L’Encantada partner with, Lous Pibous is one of the most acclaimed and its spirit, perhaps the most sought after.
Lous Pibous produced Armagnac, made with Folle Blanche grapes grown on their small farm, for only around 20 years. Unlike most other producers, they entirely aged their spirit in new oak, in a deliberately dry warehouse.
This 1993 vintage has aged for roughly 28 years, having been bottled in June 2021.
The result is an Armagnac that serves up note of sweet honey on toast, dried fruits, chocolate, berries, peppery spice, citrus rind, bold new oak, toasted hazelnuts, creamy vanilla and toffee.
Lous Pibous often gets compared to high quality Bourbon and its easy to see why, the new oak character is strong, though there’s plenty of brandied fruits.
Only 342 bottles were produced.
