Ledaig 2007 (Cask #162) - Gordon & MacPhail Reserve
70 cl, 46%

A really fascinating release from this funky Island whisky. Ledaig is the name given to Tobermory’s peated spirit, which remains in very small production. This small distillery is found on the Isle of Mull off the Scottish West Coast.

This particular bottling marks the collaboration of two of Europe’s most respected bottling companies: Van Wees and Gordon MacPhail, with the latter bottling this whisky especially for the former. Both these bottlers have a hard earned reputation for choosing some of the finest casks around.

First distilled in 2007, this whisky has matured for 6 years in cask number 162. This is a spritely and youthful whisky, packed full of peaty flavour and stone fruit notes. A little coastal sea spray reminds the drinker of this whisky’s provenance.

Bottled at 46% ABV, this whisky has not been artificially coloured nor chill filtered, allowing the natural characteristics of this dram to shine through. Being a single cask whisky, just 475 bottles of this terrific stuff are available worldwide, making stocks highly limited.
