Another delicious whisky from Signatory Vintage’s Cask Strength range – this time, it’s a bottle of Ledaig, oily and peaty, just how we like ‘em!
Produced at the Tobermory distillery on the Isle of Mull, this is an old fashioned and delicious Island whisky. The bottled was distilled on the 7th of July 2007, and bottled on the 4th of July 2020, just three days shy of its 13th birthday! The spirit was matured in a single refill sherry butt, developing superb depth and complexity.
This dram offers up notes of smoked meats, sea spray and iodine, espresso, bananas, stewed plums, raspberries, tarry peat smoke, hazelnuts, burnt oak, slight oil, dark chocolate and dried fruits.
Bottled at a robust cask strength of 60.1% ABV and without chill filtration or colouration, this is an intense and aggressive dram.
