Ledaig 12 Year Old 2004 (Cask #16600503 & #16600506) - Gordon & MacPhail (Cask Strength)
70 cl, 55.5%

Once again, Gordon & MacPhail prove themselves to be one of the very best independent bottlers in the game. This is a fabulous Ledaig, bottled as part of the highly esteemed Cask Strength range.

Ledaig is the peated version of Tobermory’s spirit, which is produced in small quantities and for a short period.

This particular bottling was distilled on the 2nd of November 2004, and bottled on the 22nd of June 2017, making it a little over 12 years old. The whisky has been matured in first fill and refill sherry hogsheads, casks number 16600503 and 16600506.

This maturation has given the naturally powerfully peaty and maritime spirit an extra layer of depth and complexity. Drinkers should expect notes of smouldering peat, sea spray, dried fruit, baking spices and dark oak.

The flavours of this dram express themselves powerfully on the palate due to the fact that this whisky has been bottled at a formidable cask strength of 55.5% ABV. As always with this series, the whisky is also non-chillfiltered and free from artificial colour, ensure that the drinker gets to enjoy the spirit’s natural qualities.

Drawn from just two casks, this is a very small batch release, and drinkers should purchase now to avoid missing out on this top-notch dram.
