A crisp bottling of Glentauchers from Signatory Vintage’s reliably excellent Cask Strength range.

Glentauchers is a rather overlooked distillery that has traditionally provided blends such as Buchanan’, Black and White, and Ballantine’s with malt spirit. The house style is light, floral and fruity, making it a lovely, classic Speyside whisky.

This particular bottling has been matured in a pair of Bourbon Barrels for 21 years, having been distilled on the 23rd of July 1997, and bottled on the 13th of May 2019.

The dram serves up oodles of Bourbon cask character, with powerful notes of oak spice (cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves), thick vanilla, cream, toffee, apples, pressed flowers, pears, peach, charred oak, slight red berries, a touch of herbaceousness and warming malt.

This dram is presented at 47.8% ABV, and without either chill filtration or colouration, ensuring a rich mouthfeel and fully flavoured palate.

The two barrels produced an outturn of only 340 bottles.
