Another superb bottling forming part of the 2018 Gordon and MacPhail release. Long-term fans of the Connoisseurs Choice series will notice that this outturn has been given a radical redesign.

The Connoisseurs Choice range has a proud history on shining a light on lesser known distilleries. Like Brora/ Clynelish, this distillery has a rather strange history, where in 1972, another distillery was constructed next to the first Glendullan, which had been there since the 1890’s (one of the original “seven stills of Dufftown”). Only the newer distillery remains.

This bottling is typical of the distillery’s style. A classic Speysider, with a long fermentation time, creating lots of grassy, orchard fruit flavours. This bottling has been matured in a single refill American oak hogshead for 24 long years, imparting delicate flavours of vanilla, tropical fruit, dense oak, peppery woodspice and cream to this whisky.

Bottled at 56.6% ABV, and without chill filtration or artificial colouring, nothing is stripped from this glorious dram.

A great age for a classic Speyside whisky, this is a testament to the expertise of Gordon & MacPhail. Just 171 bottles were produced.
