Another superb addition to Gordon & MacPhail’s classic Distillery Label range.
This time round it is a single malt whisky from Glenburgie, a highly underrated distillery which provides the core of Ballantine’s blend, and therefore is rarely seen as a single malt.
The distillery is known for producing something of a thick, slightly meaty spirit well suited to long aging and sherry casks.
This 21 year old should be just the ticket then! Aged under the watchful eye and mighty expertise of G&M, this is a very fine whisky, packed with Speyside notes of apple, pear, grassy malt, warm hay, vanilla, cream, honey, dried fruit and citrus rind.
Bottled at 43% ABV and without colouration, this is a tremendous dram.
