A flavoursome small batch bottling of Glenburgie from stalwart bottlers Gordon and MacPhail. This whisky forms part of their highly esteemed Connoisseurs Choice range.
Glenburgie is a rather underrated distillery, known for producing a rather weighty, meaty spirit with a grassy flavour.
A 2004 vintage, this dram was matured in four first fill former Bourbon barrels for 14 years, developing a wonderful, creamy flavour.
This Glenburgie delivers flavours of creamy vanilla, white chocolate, apple, pear, ginger, some grass, peppery spice, nutmeg, toffee’d malt, toasted nuts, buttered cornbread, cedarwood and lemon.
Bottled at 46% ABV and without chill filtration or colouration, this is a full bodied, luxurious dram.
A reminder how good Bourbon cask whisky can be, just 1,164 bottles were produced.
