Glen Ord 12 Year Old 2007 (Cask #312743 & #312741) - Signatory Un-Chillfiltered
70 cl, 46%

A lovely bottling from the Glen Ord distillery, which is rarely seen as a single malt in Europe. This bottling has been produced by Signatory for their Un-Chillfiltered range.

Glen Ord is known for its grassy, bright and fruity new make spirit, which is largely used in Diageo’s blended whiskies. Interestingly it is one of only three distilleries (alongside Roseisle and Springbank) which is entirely self-sufficient in producing their own malt. Indeed, the distillery now houses a large malting plant which provides malt for all of Diageo’s more northerly distilleries.

This 2007 vintage was distilled on the 4th of September that year, having been bottled on the 5th of February 2020 with a final age of 12 years. The whisky was matured in a pair of Hogsheads.

The final result is a bright, grassy, summery dram which serves up flavours of pineapple, mango, green bananas, orange rind, grapefruit, toffee’d malt, some soft baking spices, chopped herbs, green apple and light vanilla oak.

Bottled at 46% ABV and without chill filtration or colouration, this is a satisfying Highland dram.
