Well aged single grain whisky is one of the Scotch world’s greatest pleasures, and this bottling is an excellent example of the style. Distilled at the Cameronbridge distillery in the Lowland region, and bottled by the Dutch bottlers the Ultimate Whisky Company.
Distilled in March 1984 and bottled in January 2019 (just a month or so short of its 35th birthday), this whisky has been aged in a single hogshead, developing astonishing depth and complexity.
This dram opens up with notes of cola, liquorice and root beer, followed by touches of cocktail bitters, anise, leather, lemon, ginger, cedarwood, salted caramel, ginger, pecan pie, dried fruit and orange peel.
Perfectly balanced between sweet and savoury, this whisky has a long, warming finish.
The bottling is presented at 54.9% ABV and without chill filtration or colouration, ensuring a full body and maximum flavour.
Just 177 bottles were produced.
