A delightful, and well matured, Benrinnes bottling from Signatory’s esteemed Cask Strength series.

Distilled in 1996, when Benrinnes used a partial double distillation system (the practice stopped in 2007), this gives the spirit a wonderful thick texture. The spirit has been drawn from two hogsheads, in which it was matured for 21 years.

The final result is a wonderfully malty whisky with notes of bright, sweet grain, butterscotch, caramel, oak, sugared ginger and citrus rind, cinnamon, paprika and cloves. Some rye-like spices build, with touches of cut grass and flowers.

An impressive dram, bottled at a warming cask strength of 51% ABV, and without chill filtration or colouration.

This whisky was limited to just 561 bottles worldwide.
