A 27 year old single malt whisky from the little-known Speyside distillery, Balmenach. With no official releases and a very tiny number of independent bottlings, a well-aged Balmenach such as this one is a rare sight.

The distillery is owned by Inver House Distillers, who also own four other distilleries: Pulteney, Balblair, Knockdhu, and Speyburn. With such great distilleries in their portfolio, and being used almost exclusively in blending, it’s not too surprising that bottlings of Balmenach single malt rarely sees the light of day.
