Pronounced ‘Orth-Rusk’, this distillery was traditionally part of the J&B blend, and is known for creating a spicy, nutty spirit. This is partly due to the speedy production, with a quick mashing and fermentation, and an intense distillation that often burns the distillation solids.
This 1994 vintage bottling forms part of Gordon and MacPhail’s iconic Connoisseur’s Choice series. Matured in a single refill American hogshead for 24 years having been bottled on the 5th of September 2018.
This whisky serves up notes of lemon, vanilla, mint, tropical fruits (mango, pineapple), peppery spice, bright oak, singed almonds, cream and honey.
Bottled at a warming cask strength of 54.5% ABV, and without chill filtration or colouration, this is a satisfying and full bodied whisky.
Another classic G&M bottling, packed with typical Speyside notes, but also expressive of the bottler’s style.
