A classic Signatory bottling, this time from Auchroisk (pronounced ‘Orth Rusk’).
Auchroisk, which sits close to the river Spey, is one of Diageo’s powerhouse blending distilleries, present in many of the company’s top bottlings. The distillery uses fast, hot fermentation to create a nutty, spicy spirit with a heavy body.
This 11 year old dram has been matured in two Hogsheads, sister casks numbers 803194 and 803195. The result is a spicy whisky with a restrained oak influence. Drinkers can expect flavours of walnuts, almonds, warm malt, honeyed barley, light oak, nutmeg, cinnamon and tinned pears.
Bottled at 43% ABV, this is an easy-drinking, warming and succulent dram.
Just 694 bottles were produced worldwide.
