An well aged rum from Rivere du Mat, a distillery based on the island of Reunion, found in the Indian Ocean.

Produced using “fresh molasses” this rum has been distilled in a column still, and aged in Limousin oak former Cognac casks for between 6 and 9 years (the rum is a blend of different distillates).

The final result is an unusual cross between a dry Spanish style rum, and a heavier molasses spirit. Rivière Du Mat XO serves up heavy vanilla flavours, with some dried fruit, peaches, cream, pineapple, coconut flakes, toffee, figs, bananas, cinnamon, charred oak, grapes, brown sugar and a touch of grassy cane.
